NBS realized the importance of extending the knowledge of Economics at an academic level, and has introduced BS in Economics to provide in-depth knowledge and analytical skills to future economists. BS program at NUST aims to develop the knowledge of the workings of economic systems along with a sense of the economic dimensions of social and political issues.
Objectives
Broadly the program will help the students to develop the following skills:
- To explain given a wide range of circumstances, how does an individual make a rational choice between the available alternatives?
- To understand how can we understand the nature of social institutions, such as firms and markets, within which such choices are made? And how the mechanism of an economy works?
- To analyze and think critically how do these individuals and institutions interact to generate outcomes for society as a whole? This program will also help students to think critically and propose a better solution.
Eligibility Criteria
Intermediate or equivalent qualification (Overseas School Certificate/ British General Certificate of Education (advance level)/ International Baccalaureate Certificate).
A minimum of 60% aggregate marks each, in Matric and intermediate (excluding NCC marks) / equivalent exams.
Candidates will be evaluated through an entry test and an interview.
